The 11th annual ShiverFest in Devils Lake will kick off Feb. 18 with the three-day Mikal Wakefield Memorial Hockey Tournament at the Burdick and Bill Jerome arenas and other events running through Feb. 20.
Ackerman Acres will offer an Ice RallyCross starting at 11:15 a.m. Feb. 19 and high flying large kites from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 19-20. At the lake by Woodland Resort, there will be sleigh rides, a golf course on ice and igloo building, all starting at 11 a.m. Feb. 19, plus a snowshoe race Relay for Life benefit beginning at noon Feb. 19.
The Youth Ice Fishing Tournament will begin at 1 p.m. Feb. 19 at Woodland Resort with trophies for the largest fish more and a drawing to win an ice fishing starter kit and more. The entry fee is $10 and tickets can be purchased at the fire station, the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce or on the ice the day of the tournament. The first 100 youth signed up for the tournament will receive an ice fishing rod, tackle and a tackle box. Concessions will be available on Creel Bay from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 19.
Junior/Bantam Bonspiel will be Feb. 18-19 at Lake Region Curling Club. An adult and high school pond hockey tournament with a maximum of 50 three-man teams will round out the weekend Feb. 19-20 at Woodland Resort. There will be fireworks at Woodland Resort at dark Feb. 19 and Face for Radio will play at 9 p.m. Feb. 19 at The Cove at Woodland Resort.
