A Sheyenne, N.D., man was found uninjured Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., more than seven hours after his vehicle was struck by a BNSF train east of Bremen, N.D., in Wells County.

Kurt Anderson was found two miles away from his vehicle after law enforcement and local residents spent much of the morning looking for him.

According to a news release, BNSF reported to the Wells County Sheriff's Office at 2:51 a.m. that one of their trains had struck a pickup that was parked on the track.

When sheriff's deputies arrived, they found the vehicle in the ditch but no driver. They were joined by the New Rockford Fire Department, the Eddy County Sheriff's Office and local residents, who looked for the driver on foot and with ATVs.

When Anderson was found, he was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to give immediate notice of an accident.
