A sex offender who had been living in East Grand Forks was caught after being featured Tuesday on a list of offenders who authorities had lost track of.
Deandre Bratton, 22, was arrested during a traffic stop in Hennepin County, said Sgt. Chris Olson of the East Grand Forks Police Department. Bratton had a felony warrant for violating registration requirements.
Bratton, who previously lived in the Minneapolis area, stayed in East Grand Forks for about six months and left without notifying authorities. The last time police had contact with him was December 2008.
Olson, who tracks offenders for the department, said the offense that led to Bratton's registration requirement took place in Minneapolis. Olson did not know what crime Bratton was convicted of. Bratton's been pegged as a Level I offender, which means there's a low likelihood he'll re-offend.
Tuesday's list named 15 offenders whose last known addresses were in north central Minnesota. In addition to Bratton, authorities have located Brian Platt whose last known address was in Solway, Minn. It turns out that Platt, 27, is incarcerated in California, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
