DICKINSON, N.D. -- Stark County Emergency Services Director Bill Fahlsing said Wednesday the saltwater line that was severed west of Dickinson this week is a Denbury Resources pipeline.

Fahlsing said he doesn't believe the spill created after the line was compromised Tuesday poses a health risk, though he said the North Dakota Department of Health has jurisdiction over the spill and has been notified.

A pool of saltwater was spilled into a ditch on the north side of Highway 10 about three miles west of Dickinson, according to the Dickinson Rural Fire Department. A passer-by noticed the spill, which apparently was a result of contracting work being done in the area.
