HARWOOD, N.D.-A jackknifed semi blocked eastbound traffic on I-94 near here for about three hours early Tuesday morning, according to highway patrol officials.
Freddie Reyes, 68, was driving a 1999 Peterbilt eastbound on I-94 about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday when the semi left the roadway and went into the median, said North Dakota Highway Patrol Capt. Bryan Niewind..
Reyes, of Yakima, Wash., tried to steer the semi back onto the roadway to the right, but instead the semi jackknifed and rolled onto the driver's side, blocking both eastbound lanes of the interstate.
The crash forced traffic up and around onto eastbound exit 310.
Niewind said the road was cleared by about 5:45 a.m. The semi was totaled.
