Someone claiming to be selling subscriptions to the Herald may be running a scam to get victims’ credit card or bank information.
Circulation Director Beth Bohlman said a Crookston woman called the paper Monday to say she had received a call May 1 offering a discounted subscription and restaurant coupons if she provided her credit card number. Another person told the Herald about receiving a similar call last week.
The Herald is not soliciting by telephone, and anyone receiving subscription offers should not give out any personal financial information.
