A 31-year-old Wyndmere, N.D., man died in a rollover accident early today in Richland County, the North Dakota Highway Patrol said.
The man, whose name has not been released, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger westbound on County Road 4 at the Wild Rice River about 2:25 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve and left the road into the ditch, the patrol said.
The car vaulted over the Wild Rice River, landed on the east bank and then vaulted over the river bank before rolling and coming to rest on its top.
The driver was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, which is about four miles east of Colfax, the patrol said.
