ROADS AND WEATHER: Highs near 25, chance of snow

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Grand Forks and surrounding communities effective Wednesday through Friday afternoon. There is a chance of snow, sleet and ice accumulation from this storm system that may affect travel. Stay tuned to local forecasts.

Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows near 13 and winds from the east southeast about 8 to 13 mph.

Wednesday there is an 80 percent chance of snow mainly after noon with highs near 25 and east winds about 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Wednesday night there is a 90 percent chance of snow with lows near 14 and northeast winds about 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Driving conditions in northeastern North Dakota are reported to be in fair to difficult condition. In northwestern Minnesota roads are reported to be in fair to difficult condition.

The traffic speeds should be reduced in areas where there is snow and icy conditions, especially when passing on the roadways.
