HASTINGS, Minn. -- A man was pulled from a river in Hastings on Wednesday, preventing him from going over a dangerous waterfall.
About 4:15 p.m., a caller reported seeing a man in the water just above the falls of the Vermillion River. Hastings Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched.
It appeared the man had waded into the river and was considering going over the falls.
Eventually, a rescuer made his way to the man and grabbed hold of him to prevent him from going down the falls. Even then, the man resisted the efforts of rescue personnel.
