Unity Medical Center Foundation in Grafton, N.D., recently received an anonymous donation of $144,808.82,one of the the largest bequests in the organization's history.
The donation was delivered personally by an unidentified person to Kristy Jelinek, foundation director, according to a report in the Walsh County Record.
"Thanking this individual seems so inadequate because it was such a wonderful donation," she said. "This individual made it very clear they wanted to remain anonymous."
It has not been decided how the money might be spent. Jelinek said foundation leaders will discuss potential projects with the donor.
Crookston starts United way student chapter

A student chapter of the United Way has been established in Crookston.
It's believed to be the first such chapter in Minnesota, Crookston United Way Executive Director Katya Zepeda said at the agency's recent Spring Fling and Ice Cream Social, according to a report in the Crookston Daily Times.
The Student Way-Crookston Chapter, started with eight members. The chapter is one of some 1,800 chapters in the country.
Crappies introduced to Red Lake River
About 5,000 crappies have been stocked in the Red Lake River at Thief River Falls.
The project was initiated by the Pennington County Sportsman Club, which responded to requests from area residents, according to a report in the Thief River Falls Times.
The club received a permit for the project from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The cost of the project was about $2,000.
The club also plans to stock the river with walleyes, probably in the fall, club representative Dana Klos said.

Devils Lake mall to get fitness center
Another business is coming to City Plaza in Devils Lake.
Lake Region Fitness will be structured like a wellness center, owner Joe Gleason told the Devils Lake Journal.
Besides weights and aerobic equipment, the 6,800 square-foot center will include massage therapists, a steam sauna, locker rooms, showers and possibly a physical therapy program, he said.
City Plaza is located in a former Wal-Mart building, along U.S. Highway 2.
Maddock pool fund grows to $185,000
The Maddock (N.D.) Pool Committee has raised about $185,000 toward a $636,000 swimming pool renovation project.
Committee members soon will be making personal contacts in an effort to obtain donations, according to a report in the Benson County Farmers Press.

Individual memorials and other gifts have been averaging $450 to $500, according to the report.
The group has set a minimum goal of collecting $400,000 in donations and pledges.
