The UND Honors Program and Global Friends Coalition will host a picnic to foster relations between refugees and the broader community from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in University Park.
Grand Forks in recent years has become home to refugees mostly from Bhutan, Iraq, Burundi, Liberia and Somalia. The picnic will allow both new and long-term residents to get to know their fellow community members.
The meal is potluck to allow for cultural exchange via food. Please label your food with basic ingredients. Plates, utensils and beverages will be provided. Feel free to bring outdoor activities, as well. All community members are encouraged to attend.
