ELLSWORTH, Wis. -- A Red Wing, Minn., woman accused of putting lighter fluid in a glass of milk faces a felony charge.

Danielle Lynn Larson, 22, is charged in Pierce County Circuit Court with placing foreign objects in edibles, a Class I felony. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of intimidation of victim.

According to a criminal complaint, Ellsworth police responded to a complaint from a man in April that he drank chocolate milk with lighter fluid in it. Police found a container of lighter fluid and found its smell similar to that of the milk.

The man later complained about a gun being stolen from his apartment, telling police that Larson had a key to the apartment and was the first one to tell him his gun was missing.

Larson told police she and the man used to live together, and amid multiple fights, she moved out, the complaint said. She denied taking the gun and initially denied tainting the milk.

However, she eventually admitted putting a couple of drops of fluid in, the complaint said. She told police she thought the man would smell the milk before drinking it.

Larson is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
