A Red Lake, Minn., teenager is accused of murdering a man on the Red Lake Indian Reservation, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney's office.

A criminal complaint alleges that Ryan Roy Cloud, 19, killed a 27-year-old Red Lake man on the night of Feb. 1. The victim, who was not identified, died at the Indian Health Service Hospital in Red Lake, the release said.

The release said tribal police went to the Red Lake home where the stabbing occurred, and outside, they found a pool of blood and a knife nearby. Blood droplets led from the blood pool to the entrance of the residence, the release said.

According to the release, police found several people, including Cloud inside the home. Investigators eventually learned Cloud and the victim had been wrestling and that Cloud had stabbed the victim several times, the release said.

On Thursday, Cloud was arrested and made his initial appearance on a second-degree murder charge in federal court in Bemidji. He remains in custody.
