A federal jury recently indicted a Red Lake, Minn., man on child pornography charges, according to the U.S. attorney's office here.
The indictment, filed Tuesday, charges James Patrick Needham, 52, with one count of distributing child porn and one count of possessing it. Needham was scheduled to appear in federal court in Duluth Wednesday on the charges, which allege he distributed several images of minors engaged in sexual conduct in 2010 and in 2011 had 1,300 images and 100 videos of child porn on a computer in his home.
If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum penalty of five years in prison on the distribution charge and a maximum sentence of 20 years.
