NoDak Films will spend two weeks in North Dakota to find actors to appear in its first production, "Last Summer for the Boys," including auditions Feb. 19 in Grand Forks, for the movie that's set to begin production in the summer.
"Last Summer For Boys" is about a young North Dakota man fresh from college and with a new job in Minneapolis who, even though he's left the combine for a cubicle, finds the burden of leaving the farm has never left him, a news release said.
Something happens in Minneapolis, and he ends up back in the small North Dakota farm town of his youth. There he struggles with the girl he left, the friends with whom he's lost touch and the tough choices he has to make.
NoDak Films is looking for almost 30 individuals to fill speaking roles, some more major than others. Here's the casting schedule:
- Ray, N.D.: 10 a.m. to last audition Feb. 11 at Ray Lutheran Church.

- Minot: 9 a.m. to last audition Feb. 12-13 in basement of Rick's Jewelry.
- Linton, N.D.: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at Sister's Restaurant.
- Bismarck: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 15-16 at Old Riverside Cafe.
- Grand Forks: 8 a.m. to last audition Feb. 19 at REAC 1 Building, UND Campus.
- Fargo: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 20 and noon to 5 p.m. Feb. 21 at Zandbroz Variety.

The Web site also has script segments for each speaking role. If you are interested in auditioning for a role, NoDak Films asks that you print a copy of the role and bring it to the casting location of your choosing. You do not need to be an actor or actress to audition, a news release said.
North Dakota native Nathan Anderson, founder and owner of NoDak Films, will be talking to people about the company's fundraising model that calls for 1,889 North Dakota individuals, businesses and/or towns (with populations less than 5,000) to contribute $100 to the production of the movie.

In return, an individual would be an extra on the movie; a business would receive a product placement; and towns would have a landmark or identifier in the movie.
"The NoDak Films model separates NoDak Films from every movie and movie maker," Anderson said in a news release, "so when we produce our movie next summer, we are creating a new industry for North Dakota and a unique, perhaps profitable, experience for those who contribute."
