A man who taunted police while on his snowmobile early this morning wound up off the machine and in jail, according to a Royal Canadian Mounted Police news release.

Selkirk, Man., RCMP officers were on patrol in Petersfield when they observed a man operating a snowmobile in erratic fashion in a hotel parking lot.

According to the release, the man was swearing at police and spinning his snow machine around in circles - "fish tailing" around the parking lot while taunting the officers.

"The man was so intoxicated," the release continued, "that he eventually fell off of his snowmobile directly in front of police while driving in circles around them."

He was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. His snowmobile, a 2011 Polaris, was impounded and towed from the location.
