DEVILS LAKE -- Ramsey County will have a new state’s attorney next year.

The County Commission unanimously chose Kari Agotness, the county’s clerk of court, during its meeting Tuesday in Devils Lake, Commissioner Jeff Frith told the Herald. She will take over Jan. 1 for Lonnie Olson, who was elected in November to serve as a Northeast District judge. His last day as state’s attorney is Dec. 30.

Pembina County State's Attorney Ryan Bialas and attorney Ulysses Jones, who has a private practice in Devils Lake, also applied for the position.
