Rain is expected to begin falling in the region this afternoon, mostly after 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
There is a 60 percent chance of rain in Grand Forks today, but an 80 percent chance of rain tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
East wins of about 17 mph, gusting to as high as 23 mph have been forecast for Grand Forks today. Tonight a north-northwest wind of between 13 and 22 mph is expected, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
Rainfall amounts in Grand Forks were expected to total less than a tenth of an inch during the day today, but could reach a quarter of an inch tonight.
Today's high is expected to be 62 degrees, with the low reaching 45 tonight.

The National Weather Service issued a flood warning today south of Grand Forks for the Red River in Fargo, Wahpeton and the Buffalo River at Sabin, Minn., near Hawley, Minn., and near Dilworth, Minn.
A wind advisory was also issued for southwest and far south central North Dakota today.
