Pursuit in Polk County turns into foot chase

Two juvenile males were taken into custody Sunday after a police pursuit that ended in a foot chase in Polk County, Minn.

The Polk County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a stolen vehicle on Minnesota Highway 220 just south of County Road 9 at about 10:15 a.m., according to the sheriff's department. The vehicle had been taken from Lawton, N.D., early Sunday morning.

The pursuit covered 24 miles along the highway and county roads 58 and 59, according to the sheriff's department. The vehicle went into the ditch and a short foot chase followed.

The two juveniles are being held at the Northwest Regional Juvenile center.

The Minnesota State Patrol assisted with the pursuit.
