Prep football: Section 6 9-man capsules

Ruebke had 122 rushing yards and 51 passing yards.

"He's been the key for us all year," Cougars coach Mike Gullingsrud said. "He's able to get the ball into the hands of our playmakers and run our offense efficiently."

Ada-Borup wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. After forcing a three-and-out on Win-E-Mac's first series, Payton Kujava returned the punt 71 yards to make it 6-0.

Teammate Yuri Johnson added the next two scores to give the Cougars an 18-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

"Our offensive and defensive lines were definitely the key. They're a very talented group," Gullingsrud said.

Win-E-Mac's lone score came in the fourth quarter on a 23-yard run by Trevor Klinke.

Ada-Borup improved to 8-2.

Waubun 70, Norman County East 6: Floyd DeGroat ran for 111 yards and Tyler Voss added 107 as Waubun rolled to a win over visiting Norman County East.

Waubun didn't throw a pass but racked up more than 300 yards on the ground.

"Our line played a huge part," Waubun coach Justin McClouskey said. "It was the second straight game we were able to run for more than 300 yards."

Waubun plays Ada-Borup in the section championship Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Grand Forks Alerus Center.

Izaak Bray ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns for Waubun, which beat Ada-Borup 38-35 during the regular season.

Cory Pemberton scored Norman County East's lone touchdown on a 20-yard pass from Alex Sather.
