Prairie Public Broadcasting has begun offering a new public broadcasting channel to viewers.

The MN Channel, a collaboration of programming from Prairie Public and other Minnesota Public Television Association TV stations profiling the state and its close neighbors, began on-air programming Feb. 1.

The launching of the MN Channel marks the first time that all the public TV stations serving Minnesota, including Prairie Public, are interconnected on a single project.

Viewers with TV sets equipped with digital tuners or those who use cable or satellite TV that carries the programming can find it on Prairie Public's digital multicast Channel 3, according to spokesperson Marie Lucero. Prairie Public's multicast Channel 1 offers analog programming and its Channel 2 offers high definition programming.

Prairie Public is transmitted on Channel 16 in the Grand Forks and Crookston areas and Channel 25 in the Devils Lake area.
