The Grand Forks Police Department has released images from video depicting a suspect in a convenience store robbery involving a knife.

Officers are investigating the robbery reported at 7:30 a.m. Friday. Police were dispatched to the Valley Dairy at 2401 S. Columbia Road, where a suspect showed a knife, demanded money and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a news release.

A person who appears in store video footage looks "very similar to the suspect," police said. He appears to be wearing dark-colored pants, a large blue jacket, tan chopper mittens, a bomber-style hat and a black and white striped scarf. Most of the photos show the scarf over the suspect's face, but one image shows the scarf pulled down to reveal his face.

He also was wearing white gym shoes and was described by police as having a stocky build. Those with information on the case should call (701) 787-8000, submit a tip to the Police Department's Facebook page or to www.grandforksgov.com/government/police , or send a tip using the Tip411 app.
