VALLEY CITY, N.D. - Police here have released information related to a suspect in a shooting that injured a 19-year-old Valley City man on Wednesday, Nov. 21.
The victim, who was shot once in the chest, is recovering in an area hospital, police said Friday, Nov. 23, in a news release. Police declined to release the victim's name.
The suspect's identity is unknown, but he's described as a black man who's about 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds, with shoulder-length dreadlocks, according to police.
At the time of the shooting, the suspect was possibly wearing dark sweatpants and a crewneck sweatshirt.
The man left the scene in a light-colored car, possibly a tan or light gold, late model Pontiac Grand Prix, police said, adding that the suspect may be from the Chicago area but has associates in the Fargo-Moorhead area.

It is believed the suspect and victim know each other, police said.
