Century Elementary School in Grand Forks was cleared and deemed safe after receiving a bomb threat Monday afternoon, according to police.

School staff received a call at 12:23 p.m. Monday "indicating an explosive device was in the school," according to police.

School administration and staff immediately evacuated the building as a precaution and notified Grand Forks Police.

Air Force personnel assisted police by bringing in extra bomb dogs, and the Grand Forks Regional Bomb Team also responded to the scene.

Parents were notified as the situation was happening.

By 3 p.m., the school was cleared as safe.
