Grand Forks Police arrested a man in connection to a homicide in Des Moines, Iowa, north of the city Monday night.
Officers arrested Randy Dean Miles, 41, of Des Moines, on a warrant and without incident about 8:15 p.m. at the 3000 block of North Washington Street, according to Police Sgt. Andrew Stein.
Miles was spotted by an off-duty law enforcement agent after police released a statement asking the public to look out for the potentially dangerous person.
According to a police news release, Miles had been staying in a motel on South 42nd Street and was seen earlier Monday being dropped off by a taxi at Cabela’s sporting goods in downtown East Grand Forks.

According to the Des Moines Register, police are seeking Miles in connection with the death of his 26-year-old stepson, Christopher Lenhart, of Des Moines.
Lenhart died of burns in a vehicle fire Friday investigators say appears to have been intentional and may have been part of a domestic dispute.

Grand Forks Police are seeking a man they say is a material witness in a homicide in Des Moines, Iowa, and are warning the public to look out for the potentially dangerous person.
According to a police news release, Randy Dean Miles, 41, of Des Moines, had been in Grand Forks as recently as Monday and was staying in a motel on South 42nd Street. Police in Iowa say he may have information critical to a homicide investigation in Des Moines and believe he may be in Grand Forks.
Investigators in Grand Forks determined Miles had taken a taxi from his motel to Cabela’s sporting goods store in downtown East Grand Forks about 2 p.m. Monday.
Miles was last seen wearing light blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt, police say. He is 5 feet 10 inches, 215 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, and he has several visible tattoos, including on his hands and the number 1896 tattooed on his neck. He was seen carrying one or two large duffle bags and a tent.

Grand Forks Police say Miles is potentially dangerous. Anyone who sees him should contact them at (701) 787-8000 or by calling 911. Those spotting him outside Grand Forks should call their local law enforcement agencies.
