Police accuse four juveniles in spree of up to 100 car break-ins in Fargo

FARGO - Four juveniles allegedly attempted to break into 100 vehicles overnight Thursday.

The Fargo Police Department responded to a citizen report at 4 a.m., and found the suspects attempting to open car doors along the 3500 block of 42nd St. S. Three of the alleged prowlers were apprehended, while one escaped, according to Lt. Joel Vettel.

The fourth suspect has been identified, and Vettel said police will seek charges against him.

Authorities found the juveniles in possession of a number of stolen items, including money and small electronics.

Six victims of the prowlers have been notified, but Vettel said there could be more possible victims.

The three juveniles will face charges of theft of a motor vehicle, unlawful entry of a vehicle, providing a police officer with false information and juvenile violation of curfew. One individual was also referred for a minor consuming alcohol.

All three were released to their parents.
