FARGO - What started as "playful" wresting between cousins from Fargo turned violent early today when the male cousin got upset that his female cousin beat him and started fighting her, Fargo police said.
The 29-year-old woman and her 30-year-old cousin were drinking at a residence in the 800 block of Second Street North when they began to wrestle shortly before 1:30 a.m., Sgt. Mark Lykken said.
When she beat him, he started fighting her, allegedly giving her a bloody nose and restricting her airway, Lykken said.
The woman displayed a multipurpose pliers to her cousin, but she told police she did so only because he displayed a kitchen knife, which he denied doing, Lykken said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and taken to the Cass County Jail. The woman is a domestic violence suspect but hadn't been arrested, Lykken said.

"Alcohol appeared to play a role in the incident as all parties involved were reported to be very intoxicated," he said.
