CROSBY, N.D. -- A valve failure in piping caused the leak of about 275 barrels of oil in Divide County on Thursday, the North Dakota Oil and Gas Division reported Friday.
American Eagle Energy Corp. reported the leak, and said the oil has been contained and all but 20 barrels recovered at the well about 5 miles north of Fortuna.
A state inspector has visited the scene and will monitor cleanup.
