A pickup slid into Devils Lake Monday afternoon after the driver braked a tad too hard on an icy patch of North Dakota Highway 57, according to the Highway Patrol.

Trooper Brandon Wade said no one was injured and no ticket was issued. He said he couldn't name the driver without consulting his supervisors, but said the driver is from the Devils Lake area.

The 2006 Ford F150 was not traveling particularly fast, but the driver had to slam on the brakes after another vehicle in front of him braked, he said. The driver was able to get out, though the pickup suffered water damage and had to be towed, he said.
