VMH elects board
Don Fisk has been elected chairman of the board of directors for Valley Memorial Homes for 2009-2010. Lee Roos was elected vice president, Robert Knutson secretary and John Halstenson treasurer.
Fisk owns Insight Technologies and Roos is vice chair of Roos & Associates.
Muth opens practice
Dr. Natalie Muth opened Plains Chiropractic & Acupuncture May 8 at 3750 32nd Ave. S., Suite 103 in Grand Forks. The grand opening is set for 5 to 7 p.m. May 26.

A 2008 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, Muth is a member of the American Chiropractic Association, International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, North Dakota Chiropractic Association and the Greater Grand Forks Chamber.
Sonterre joins Edward Jones
Lisa Tetrault Sonterre has been hired by financial services firm Edward Jones as the new financial adviser for the Grand Forks branch office located at 2850 24th Ave. S, Suite 202.
The Grand Forks native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations from UND. She's worked the past eight years with Wells Fargo as a personal banker, store manager and licensed private client banker.
Badgerow named head of the BBB
Dana Badgerow has been appointed president and chief executive of the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota.
Badgerow comes from Gov. Tim Pawlenty's office where she worked as Commissioner of Administration. Badgerow also has experience through Honeywell and MTS Systems Corp. She becomes the 12th president of the BBB.
Shoemaker, Johnson certified

Kathy Shoemaker and Lisa Johnson of Cetero Research in East Grand Forks have earned their Certified Clinical Research Coordinator certifications through the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
The certification formally recognizes clinical research professionals who have met the professional eligibility requirements and demonstrated job-related knowledge and skills.
Knutson hired at Mayville State
Philip Knutson has been hired as development associate for the Mayville (N.D.) State University Foundation. He will have administrative as well as fund-raising responsibilities and will begin May 26.
Knutson is a native of Wahpeton, N.D. He holds associate degrees from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton. He earned a bachelor's degree in general studies with concentrations in finance, business, management and entrepreneurship from UND in 2006.
Hagl awarded
Tim Hagl, Red Lake Falls, Minn., has won the Visionary Award for his participation in the Dale Carnegie Immersion Seminar he completed in Thief River Falls. This award is presented to the person who communicates a clear and positive vision in their life and demonstrates a commitment to applying and improving that vision.
Hagl is a business loan officer with Border State Bank in Thief River Falls.
