The trial for a Pembina, N.D., man charged with murder has been pushed back to August.
Miguel Medina-Romero, 25, had been scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Monday in state district court in Cavalier, N.D., and a several-day jury trial had been slated to begin in May.
But the trial has been re-scheduled to Aug. 1-5 and a pre-trial appearance re-scheduled for July 11, a court official said.
Neil Fleming, Cavalier, is defending Medina-Romero, who has pleaded not guilty to the murder and drug charges.
In a confrontation with B.J. Kalis, 19. of Walhalla, N.D., on Oct. 16 in front of Medina-Romero's home in Pembina, Medina-Romero is accused of shooting Kalis at close range with a .223 semi-automatic rifle several times.

Marijuana plants were seized from Medina-Romero's home during the investigation, leading to drug charges.
Pembina County State's Attorney Stuart Askew told the Herald earlier that he expects Medina-Romero to argue the shooting was self-defense.
Medina-Romero remains in the Pembina County jail on $1 million bond.
