A Grand Forks man was injured in a car-pedestrian accident early this afternoon at DeMers Avenue and Washington Street.

According to police, Chester Argall, 69, injured his leg when he was struck by a vehicle driven by Cynthia Jossart, 23, of Emerado, N.D. Argall was walking with a bicycle at the time of the accident, which occurred at about 12:47 p.m.

The report indicates Argall was trying to cross the street northbound when he was hit by the vehicle, a 1995 Dodge van, which was turning south onto Washington from DeMers.

Argall was transported to Altru Hospital by ambulance. Grand Forks Fire Department also assisted at the scene. No condition report was available.

The accident remains under investigation.
