District 19 Republican Rep. Gary Paur will run for re-election after two years in the North Dakota House of Representatives, he announced Friday.
Legislators are elected for four-year terms, but Paur will have to defend his seat after only two years because recent re-districting combined District 19 with District 16.
If he wins, Paur would have to run again in 2014 when odd-numbered districts have their usual election year.
Paur farms near Gilby and serves on the Northarvest Bean Growers Association board of directors. He sat on the Human Services Committee and Government and Veteran Affairs Committee in the 2011 legislative session.
He was first elected in 2010.
