The Grand Forks Park Board will approve building a new wellness center Tuesday.
The board has scheduled a special meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday at King's Walk Golf Course for a vote, followed by a reception in the clubhouse. On Friday, the board tied up some loose ends, such as hiring a bonding agent. Board members voiced confidence about going ahead last Tuesday at their regular monthly meeting after reviewing a financial summary of the project, but weren't ready to vote.
Now they're ready to go ahead with a $23 million project that also includes renovations to the Y, commissioner Greg LaDouceur said.
"We were just waiting for the numbers," he said. "Now it looks real good."
