FARGO – The Moorhead, Minn., man accused of calling in two bomb threats Friday afternoon to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo is not being charged with making a midmorning call that led to a lockdown of the facility.
Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel said Wednesday that no one was in custody in connection with the midmorning bomb threat call.
Peter Jonathan Rovang, 53, appeared Wednesday in Cass County District Court on felony terrorizing charges related to two other bomb threat calls that came after the hospital was placed on lockdown.

“We do not have anybody in custody for the first call,” Vettel said. “We have not solved the other one. We’re still investigating it.”
Vettel said police consider Rovang a person of interest in the open bomb threat investigation, although he said there are some differences between the first bomb threat call, which came about 10:30 a.m., and the calls authorities attribute to Rovang that were made after noon.
Court documents say Rovang called the hospital twice Friday in connection with a fight he had two days prior with Sanford security guards.
Rovang allegedly identified himself to hospital workers on the phone, and threatened twice to blow up the hospital if they didn’t give him the names of the guards.
“We don’t have any evidence leading to the first guy,” said Sanford spokesman Darren Huber. “(He) used a system that made it impossible for us to track him.”
Rovang appeared in court on one count of terrorizing, a C felony. His bail was set at $50,000.
His next court appearance is set for Aug. 20.
