One injured in head-on collision in Bemidji

On Sunday afternoon, a woman was injured when two vehicles collided head-on about 3:30 p.m. on a ramp at U.S. Highway 2 and state Highway 71 in Bemidji, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Jason Norvold, 23, Bemidji, was driving a 2003 Pontiac Bonneville south on Highway 71 approaching the westbound ramp to Highway 2 when his car collided with a westbound 2008 Dodge Calibre driven by Brina Ellison, 28, Little Canada, Minn.

Ellison was taken to the hospital with "non-life-threatening injuries," according to the Patrol report.

Her passengers, Ivory Rose Hilliard, 27, and Sara Dennison, 24, were not injured.

From the Patrol report, it wasn't clear who was at fault or if anyone was cited.

The undivided roadway was dry at the time, the Patrol said.
