One person was injured in a car accident Wednesday evening near the DeMers Avenue overpass in downtown Grand Forks.

A pickup truck traveling east on DeMers Avenue was turning left onto First Avenue North when it collided with a sedan traveling west on DeMers Avenue at about 7 p.m., said Danny Pemberton, of the Grand Forks Police Department.

Witnesses told police the sedan's headlights were not turned on.

One person was transported to Altru Hospital with unknown injuries, Pemberton said.

The vehicles did not appear badly damaged.
