A 51-year-old Las Vegas man was killed Friday in a rollover accident along U.S. Highway 2 between Minot and Stanley, the North Dakota Highway Patrol reported.
The driver, Eric Flores, 23, of Minot, told the patrol he was traveling 55 mph in the westbound left lane when he lost control of the vehicle, a 2003 Ford F-150, at about 8 a.m. Friday. The pickup entered the center median and overturned, coming to a rest on its wheels in the eastbound lanes of Highway 2. The road was covered in frost at the time of the crash.
The unidentified passenger was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. Flores was wearing a seatbelt and was injured. The passenger's name was withheld pending family notification, the patrol said. The incident remains under investigation.
