Katie Davidson, Hassan Wahab and Bella Hettich have been picked as finalists to serve as director of the UND Office of International Programs.
Davidson is the coordinator of International Study Programs at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Wahab most recently was the managing editor of Africa Today at Indiana University and Hettich is the director of the Grand Forks ELS Language Center.
They are giving public presentations in the Memorial Union Lecture Bowl about their visions for the UND office at forums this month. Davidson and Wahab already presented and Hettich is scheduled to speak at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
Whoever is selected for the job will replace Ray Lagasse, who resigned in 2015 after overseeing the program for 12 years.

• UND's Nonprofit Leadership Student Association students are hosting a furniture drive for Prairie Harvest Mental Health and its thrift store the Home Place. • Nick Storhaug, a Mayville State University alumnus, will deliver the school's annual commencement address at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lewy Lee Fieldhouse.
• Brij Singh, a UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences professor, and Jack Russell Weinstein, a UND philosophy professor, were awarded Chester Fritz Distinguished Professorships. This award is the highest honor UND can bestow upon its faculty.
• Thirty-eight UND faculty have received promotions, effective at the beginning of the 2016-17 school year. Eighteen in the group were promoted to full professor positions, 19 were promoted as associate professors and one as clinical associate professor, according to a post on the university's online newsletter.
