A Northwood, N.D., man died in a farm truck accident Saturday south of Arvilla, N.D., according to the state Highway Patrol.
Brian Erickson, 58, apparently had a medical condition that led to the single-vehicle accident and his death, said Sgt. Joe Knowski of the state Patrol on Sunday when he released Erickson's name after family members had been notified.
At about noon Saturday, Erickson was driving a 1978 GMC farm truck, hauling water north on Grand Forks County Highway 2, a two-lane blacktop.
Between Eighth Avenue and Ninth Avenue Northeast - about eight miles south of Arvilla - the truck drove off the road and crashed into a tree in a shelterbelt on the west side, Knowski said.
Witnesses said the truck was not driving fast at the time it left the road and most of the damage to the truck resulted from the weight of the water load, he said.
