Melting snow freezing overnight also contributed to icy roadways.

A no travel advisory for highways and rural roadways in northeastern and north central North Dakota was lifted by the North Dakota Department of Transportation this morning.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation's website was not showing any roads in the state as closed or having no travel advised as of 8 a.m. this morning.

High winds caused blowing and drifting snow and creating areas of low visibility and hazardous road conditions.

Many roads across northeastern and north central North Dakota were still listed as being covered by scattered ice and frost or being snow covered on the North Dakota DOT's website.

All major highways in northwestern Minnesota were listed as being "difficult" to travel on the Minnesota Department of Transportation's website this morning, including U.S. highways 75 and 59 from the Canadian border to southwestern Minnesota.
