Political signs stolen: The Grand Forks Police Department is reporting several reports of political candidates signs being stolen from residential yards in Grand Forks. Police say it appears some of the thefts have been pranks by juveniles or perhaps young adults. Officials say they are taking the thefts seriously and will investigate.

Nader rally: Consumer advocate and Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader will hold a rally at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the North Dakota State University Memorial Union, Fargo.

Nader will speak about health care, the Iraq war, the environment and the state of the presidential debates.

30th anniversary: The Christian Bookshelf in the Grand Cities Mall will hold a 30th anniversary celebration Saturday.

Christian radio station Q107 will broadcast live from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be drawings and giveaways for music, books, wall art and tickets to attend the Oct. 27 "Veggie Tales Live" performance. The new software game, Guitar Praise, will be set up for demos.

VFW workshop: The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars District 8 will hold its fall workshop at 12:30 p.m. Sunday in the Grand Forks County Office Building.

Clothing drive: RiverView Health Auxiliary is sponsoring a winter outerwear drive to provide area children with mittens, hats and scarves.

Donations may be dropped off any time before the end of October in the lobby of RiverView Health or the American Federal Bank in Crookston.

In early November, donated hats, mittens and scarves will be distributed to area schools and made available for local children.
