NEWSLINE: EGF City Council...Law Women's Caucus

Rescheduled: The regular East Grand Forks City Council meeting has been rescheduled to 5 p.m. Nov. 6 because of the election. The East Grand Forks City Council Work Session has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Nov. 10 because of Veterans Day.

Race and gender: Law Women's Caucus, a student organization at UND School of Law, will host a forum on race and gender in politics at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Baker Courtroom at the School of Law.

Panelists include: Heidi Heitkamp, former North Dakota attorney general; Merle Boucher, state representative for District 9 and House Minority Leader; Stacey Dahl, state representative for District 42; Rev. Ron Cooper, NAACP; and Kate Scheurer, political science professor at UND.

Wizard of Oz: Altru Health Foundation and Filling the Gap, a program helping low income Altru Cancer patients, are set to receive the net proceeds from two community showings of "The Wizard of Oz" at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday at the Empire Theater in Grand Forks. Participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character and plan to sing along.

Tickets are available at Altru Cancer Center or either Porpoura Coffee House location (downtown Grand Forks and Columbia Mall) and are $10 for adults and $5 for students younger than 18. For more information, call (701) 780-4673.

Hunters banquet: Minnesota Deer Hunters Association's Pine-to-Prairie Chapter is hosting its annual banquet beginning with a 6 p.m. social and dinner at 8 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Club in Fosston, Minn.

The event will raise funds for chapter goals over the next year.

NOT grants: The American Lung Association of North Dakota is offering 10 mini-grants of $500 each to North Dakota schools and youth-serving organizations, (boys and girls clubs), to promote the dissemination of its teen cessation program, Not On Tobacco.

An applicant may use the mini-grant for any expense related to promoting, implementing or evaluating the N-O-T program.
