Lassieur tells the story of pirates' short, danger-filled life investigating the true tolls of their lifestyle and their eventual fate.

Scott's information includes sleeping people taking showers, driving cars, and even committing murders. Rules range from how to address clergy, (always call Roman Catholic priests "Father" unless they are wearing purple) to safety and survival (a school of porpoises means the water is free of sharks).

-- "The Wrong Guys: Murder, False Confessions and the Norfolk Four," by Tom Wells and Richard A. Leo, tells of four presumably innocent sailors who confess to rape and murder under intense pressure by the police. Readers will have to decide if the justice system failed or if the case presented by these two authors tells the whole story.

-- "Full-Court Quest," by Linda Peavy and Ursula Smith, tells the story of 10 young women, representing seven Indian nations, who melded into a squad that overcame racial and gender barriers to become the best of the best in basketball. "Four-Court Quest" describes the triumphs of a nearly forgotten team who took their game from an isolated boarding school in Montana to world champions at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair.
