Legislation introduced by Rep. Earl Pomeroy, D-N.D., was signed into law today to provide American Indian tribes with the same direct access to federal funding for foster care and adoption services that states receive.
The Tribal Foster Care and Adoption Access Act provides federal funding to allow Native American tribes to establish independent foster care and adoption programs.
