New blizzard warning issued for Devils Lake area

A combination of strong winds and continued snowfall have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a new blizzard warning in the Devils Lake area.

A combination of strong winds and continued snowfall have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a new blizzard warning in the Devils Lake area.

Towner, Cavalier, Benson, Ramsey, Eddy, Nelson and Griggs counties have all been placed under a blizzard warning until 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Visibility in the area is expected to be close to zero as winds will come from the northwest at 25 to 35 mph, with some gusts predicted to top 45 mph.

The area, which has already received more than a foot of snow in the past two days, is expected to receive up to an inch of additional snow tonight.
