Nelson County sets commissioner interviews

The Nelson County Commission will interview five candidates next week to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Noel Lofthus, McVille, N.D., who died May 31.

The Nelson County Commission will interview five candidates next week to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Noel Lofthus, McVille, N.D., who died May 31.

Lofthus had served on the County Board for 19.5 years, according to County Auditor Jack Davidson.

McVille District residents who submitted their names for consideration are:

Maynard Loibl, Larry Johnson, Michael A. Naas, Charles "Bud" Loe and Rob Loe.

The interviews are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the courthouse in Lakota, N.D.

The four-year term runs through 2010. The position will be up for election in November 2010, with the primary in June 2010.
