The North Dakota State University Development Foundation and Alumni Association has settled with two former employees who were threatening legal action after they resigned due to alleged retaliation by the group's former president and CEO.
The group's executive committees voted unanimously Tuesday morning to pay $187,500 to Sherri Schmidt and $47,500 to Amanda Krabbenhoft, both of whom resigned last year. Schmidt was a longtime leader of the fundraising organization, and Krabbenhoft was head of the Alumni Center for about three years. Both claimed they "involuntarily resigned after experiencing retaliation and an adverse working environment" under former President Doug Mayo, documents said. They had already agreed to the settlement when it was brought to the executive committees Tuesday.
Under the settlement, Schmidt and Krabbenhoft agree to not seek future employment with the foundation, talk about the settlement with media, or press charges against past or present employees or trustees of the foundation.
