Senators killed a fireworks bill Tuesday, saying the measure was at an impasse over bottle rockets.
Sen. Dave Oehlke, R-Devils Lake, and Sen. Bob Horne, D-Minot, told their colleagues they should vote against House Bill 1394 because it would not pass the House if it contained a bottle rockets ban, and would not pass the Senate without the ban.
Senators in a conference committee had agreed Monday to take the Senate's bottle rocket ban out of the bill. On Tuesday, the Senate voted to kill the bill on a 39-8 vote.
