N.D. boy found in water Friday still critical

BREEZY POINT, Minn. -- A 3-year-old boy, who was pulled from the water near the Breezy Point Resort Boathouse and Marina on Friday night, continued to be in critical condition Monday.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office identified the boy as Emitt Weigel of Napoleon, N.D.

Police were called to the resort about 7:32 p.m. to a report of a missing toddler. Within minutes of the call, the boy was found unresponsive in the water near the shoreline by family members, according to the sheriff's department.

Emitt was flown to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

It is unknown how the child ended up in the water, the sheriff's department said. Foul play is not suspected.

Breezy Point is on Pelican Lake, about 18 miles north of Brainerd.
